What are the differences between the content sets?

The main difference is that SureSpec utilises the NCS codes. SureSpec also has a wider range of content than SpecPack and SpeedSpec. SpeedSpec is suitable for residential up to small scale commercial projects. SpecPack is suitable for residential, industrial and commercial projects. SureSpec can do all of this and more. It will be especially beneficial to practices working on government projects where NCS codes are mandated.

What is SureSpec content and what projects is it used for?

SureSpec contains content for larger projects with more complicated systems. For example, SureSpec is suitable for hospitals, schools, commercial offices and multi-residential projects. It can also be used on high-end residential construction projects where a detailed specification is required.

What is the National Classification System or NCS?

The National Classification System (NCS) is a structure used to classify your project specifications. While the NCS is maintained by NATSPEC, you do not need to use NATSPEC to create specifications. With SureSpec, you get the same project benefits and user familiarity of NCS codes, with the smart features of NBS Chorus.

How do I get started using NBS Chorus with SureSpec?

To start using NBS Chorus all you need to do is subscribe. Chorus is cloud-based, so there's no need for anything to be installed on your computer. We offer introductory on-boarding, training and support resources, plus our expert team will be with you every step of the way to answer any questions you may have as you get set up in NBS Chorus. How often will the content be updated?

SureSpec content in NBS Chorus is updated annually by our team of expert Technical Authors. We also provide links to standards so users and recipients can check the currency of the reference documents for the content they are using at any time.

Is NBS Chorus compatible with object based modelling tools?

NBS Chorus integrates with leading object based modelling tools Revit, ArchiCAD and Vectorworks. Download plug-ins here.

What does cloud-based specification mean?

Instead of having static specification documents stored on your PC, your specifications will be dynamic documents that are stored in the cloud. You can access them anywhere and on any device. Your office or home computer, tablet or phone. It also means multiple people can collaborate on specifications at the same time, with a full audit trail documenting design decisions and revisions history.

How is a SureSpec Chorus subscription different to existing Chorus subscriptions?

When you subscribe to NBS Chorus there are a range of content options available. You can also choose between Chorus and Chorus Pro.
An NBS Chorus Pro subscription with SureSpec content includes the following features:
